While working on architectural vellum I am delighted by its luminous quality. As a result, I began experimenting with translucent media and layering, which led to collaging.
Focusing on the the effects that could be achieved with the media led me to pare down to the most basic shapes and a variation on the primary colors. I was also curious to see the result of translating from small to large scale. For this I introduced a grid. The Sorbet Maps of the Multiverse are the result.
The works in the When Worlds Collide series (8x8) were made from the scraps of the larger collages and incorporated a growing fascination with meerkats.
